Early Detection and Prevention are Key to Minimizing Osteoporosis
A bone density scan done by Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) can identify persons at risk for Osteoporosis. The scan evaluates and detects early deterioration of bone mass and can measure the success of treatment for patients with Osteoporosis and Osteopenia.
Along with a calcium enriched diet, sensible, weight-bearing exercise, and medications, this scan should be part of the medical evaluation for all menopausal women and women at high risk. For more information contact the screening centers below.

Most insurance plans allow members to have osteoporosis screenings at our office locations. Check with your insurance plan to find out if your plan includes coverage for osteoporosis bone density screenings. Some insurance plans restrict access to designated radiology facilities, including: BlueChoice HMO, Adventist HealthNet, and some CareFirst National Account Service Company (NASCO) plans.
